Saint Gervais

Saint Gervais is a small savoyard market town in the French Alps, a few kilometres west of Chamonix.  As well as being a cheaper alternative to the resorts of Megeve and Chamonix for winter sports, it is also a spa town which has attracted French tourists for many decades.  It has a weekly market every Thursday morning, and offers a wide variety of traditional restaurants, bars and shops.   Spa treatments are offered by the thermal baths in Le Fayet, about 3 kilometres from the village of Saint Gervais. 

Directions

Saint Gervais is easily accessible from Geneva, Grenoble or Lyon airports.  The closest airport (70km or about an hours’ drive) is Geneva.  Grenoble and Lyon  are about a 2 hour drive.   Driving from Calais takes around 8-9 hours. 

There are regular shuttle transfers from Geneva to Saint Gervais throughout the winter and the high season in the summer, or alternatively you can travel by rail, the closest station being Le Fayet, which is about 4 km from the village.

Our apartment (green arrow) is located on the road approaching Saint Gervais less than 400m from the town centre (red placemark) or 100m from the Tramway Du Mont Blanc station.
