Skiing and Snowboarding
The main ski area of Saint-Gervais forms part of the Evasion ski domain and its 420 kilometers of slopes. The Saint Gervais ski area has 79 lifts, and is linked with Megève by a 20-person gondola at Le Bettex, situated at the top end of the village. The WOSP snow park is created every year, with a selection of jumps and rails for all abilities. In the winter the Mont Blanc tramway takes you to the separate skiing area of Les Houches, and there are frequent local bus services to Les Contamines, Chamonix and Argentieres.
The Evasion Mont Blanc ski pass is valid for the resorts of St. Gervais, Megève, Les Contamines, Saint Nicolas de Véroce and Combloux. Skiing in St Gervais is varied, but includes some difficult black and off-piste areas, plenty of reds for intermediate skiers, and several long, easy, green runs/nursery slopes for beginners. There are also some tree-lined pistes through wooded-areas, and a snow park for boarders.
For guests with small children too young to ski there is a crèche available at Le Bettex (http://www.garderiedesneiges-saintgervais.com/)
Paragliding & Gliding
Saint Gervais is an ideal base for paragliders. There are many launch sites in the area, the closest being above the village itself. Nearby Passy hosts the one of the largest paragliding schools in France and the there are excellent facilities and launch sites on the Plan Joux about 25mins drive from the apartment with stunning views towards Mont Blanc.
